8 bit HT12E/D RF module interfacing circuit


In response to request from readers, I am posting here a circuit for 8 bit data transmission with RF module using HT12E/D pair. I didn't get the time to test this circuit. In case of any problem feel free to contact me. For this circuit to work you need to provide two complimenting TLL clock of 50HZ - 100HZ. For providing TTL clock, you can use any simple clock generation circuits or single chip solution.



Circuit Working

As long as /TE pin of HT12E is low, it will keep transmitting 12 bits (8 address and 4 data bits) serially. On the receiver side whenever a valid signal is found, it will receive 12 bits serially. It will then check the 8 bit address received with the one set on its address pins. If it matches, received data is latched into the data pins (D8-D11) and the VT pin is set high. So when ever VT pin of HT12D is high, valid data is present on the data pins.

It is based on the above mentioned address matching procedure, the circuit above works. Actually we are multiplexing the two nibbles HT12E using a clock.  When the clock is high the address is 0x80. At the same time inverted clock given at the U2 (74HCT125) enable pins will latch the DATA0,  DATA1,DATA2, DATA3 into HT12E. Thus DATA1-DATA3 will be transmitted with the address 0x80. In the receiver side, though bothe HT12Ds will receive the signal after address matching only U5 will latch the data to its data pins and set its VT to high (VT1). 

Similarly when the clock is low, address is 0x00. Clock given at the U3 enable pins will latch the DATA4, DATA5, DATA6, DATA7 into HT12E. Thus DATA4-DATA7 will be transmitted with the address 0x00. In the receiver side, U6 will latch the data to its data pins and set its VT to high (VT2).

Program? I didn't get it. To send data you can interface these pins to micro controller.

I haven't made any animated illustrations till now. But will try to do so. It will take time.

may I know which software did you used to make this circuit? I've tried Proteus and OrCAD..but it seems that these components are not available in the library..really need your help about this..for my project..thank you very much and waiting for your reply..

i have problem with the frequency of the clock if its higher than about 10 hz it doesnt work will i mean one 4 bit is correct the another 4 bits are all 0 not correct
