Disabling Startup Programs In Windows Xp

Quite often you might have fed up with the long time which you will have spend before your PC for getting your desktop ready for your work. This delay is most probably due to the overloading of programs which are running at the startup. Here is a way to control and eliminate these programs during the start up using windows system configuration utility. Follow the steps below
  1. Click Start 
  2. Goto Run
  3. Type "msconfig" without quotes and hit enter.This will open System Configuration utility
  4. Select the startup tab.
  5. Now you we will get a list of programs where you could disable any no: programs by unchecking the checkbox beside them.
  6. Once your required programs are disabled, click apply and then close. 
  7. It will ask you to restart the system.
